My pieces are formed from stoneware clay, either thrown on the
wheel or assembled from carefully cut geometric pieces. Much time is spent in testing combinations of natural materials to identify possible glazes which will enhance my pots and create a work which is truly unique. My slips are earthenware clay, some being dug locally. My apple tree provides the ash for some of my glazes. The surface colours and textures are inspired by earth and sky, reflecting a personal involvement with the materials and a love of open space. |
